New blueberry plantation in Lithuania

Plantation in Lithuania created by Harm Valckx – “Berry Packing Services” will fill a gap in deliveries of blueberry between EU and South America.

Many producers of blueberry seek expansion in the beginning of season in Spain, Marocco, Romania and Ukraine, Netherland entreprenur Harm Valckx seeks expansion in north-east of Europe. This Spring he will begin planting of 20 hectars of blueberry in Lithuania. In the last ten years he discovered the gap between production in Europe and South America. Thanks to the Lithuania plantation, it should be able to close that gap. Lithuania is located in north of Europe (not including countries that can’t produce blueberry). New plantation in Lithuania will be lead by Holland type of agriculture. Company will be managed by Dutchmen. Their intention is to pack these fruits in Netherlands. Harm Valckx “We discovered that european consumers prefer european products than south american products”. So we are assured that we can end this state of lack of blueberries in Lithuania. We begin with 20 hectars but there is a possibility of expansion to 80 hectars”
